2012 branding
The London Organising Comittee for the Olympic Games (LOCOG) aggressively protects the Olympic Marks because they have raise the hundreds of millions of pounds critical to the delivery of Games from the private sector by selling sponsorship, official merchandise and tickets. Maintaining the value the London 2012 brand is crucial for the event and the sponsors. DO NOT USE THE MARKS OR ATTEMPT ANY 'AMBUSH' MARKETING OF THE BRAND!!
All of the names, phrases, marks, logos and designs related to the 2012 Games and the Olympic movement are collectively referred to as the 'Olympic Marks'. The Olympic Marks are official marks or trademarks owned, or licensed by London 2012. Without LOCOG's written consent, it is unlawful to put the Olympic logo, the London 2012 logo or the mark 'London 2012' on websites, signage, written materials or merchandise.
