Digital Dorset - Broadband survey deadline extended
01 Feb 2010
Hello Team Dorset members,
Because our Dorset businesses have been a little slow off the mark and extremely busy, Team Dorset will be extending the deadline for the high speed broadband survey to Monday 8 February. That's just one week to go! If you can spare a few minutes in the next week (we're sure you can), it would be great to pull in a few more responses and get Dorset on to the digital highway! The survey can be found on the Team Dorset website under the business page titled Connectivity Survey.
Let's make this happen!
Why is it only businesses that are asked to complete a survey? I can do so because I am a music teacher and can qualify but my husband would like his say and is not able to have it. There must be many more individuals using the net than businesses. Our broadband is rubbish and is very outdated. We need a good link to keep in touch with our family who have emigrated to New Zealand. Also streaming iPlayer etc is awful. We use it a lot and are appalled at the quality of service. Are we to stay in the dark ages in Dorset? The thought that the facilities could be put in and then taken away beggars belief.

Dear Sir or Madam It has always been the responsibility of national organizations to provide communication to whole country The GPO in spite of all their imperfections still offer next day delivery in the UK I know it doesn't always happen but at least they don't cut off large swaths of the country but BT seem to think they can pick and choose what sort of service they provide They seem to be offering us in future a second rate service because we do not have enough industry to support the needs of their shareholders The truth of the matter is that industry depends on access of good road and rail comunications And that is something the West country lacks WE one had an Industral base and we could again if we had the tools we need If our nation is to compete sucsessfuly in the world we desperatly need these thing They are not a luxury they area a nessesity for or surival John Westbrook
