The Olympics and Paralympics are the greatest sporting event on earth! We are getting very good at it! Beijing was our most successful Games and many of our medallists are based here in Dorset.

 

 

Dorset must take advantage of the inspirational effect of the 2012 Games and the fact that we are hosting the sailing events. 2012 will help increase our participation in sport and active recreation. We can have fun, get fit, stay healthy and we might discover the next Sarah Ayton, David Beckham or Lewis Hamilton! As a youngster Lewis raced go-karts in Dorset at the Clay Pigeon Kart Track which, incidentally is next to clay pigeon shooting ranges at Southern Counties Shooting where the 2010 Shotgun World Cup will take place and this will be a test event for the 2012 Games!
